This course will provide employees with an introduction to OH&S and risk management principles and practice.

• Employer and employee responsibilities and obligations
• OH&S committees
• The causes of accidents
• Accident reporting
• Hazard reporting
• Risk assessment and standard work practices.

Course Outcomes

• On completion of this course participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of the challenges of controlling OH&S risks.
• Identify the responsibilities relating to the employer, the employee and the OH&S committee
• Demonstrate how to identify hazards and assess risk in the workplace,
• Identify means of controlling risk using a hierarchy of control and evaluate success.
