OHS Auditor Training

Overview

This 5 day training course is conducted in conjunction with VIOSH Australia. The course focuses on the role of auditing within a "systems approach" to OHS management. Training is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to effectively audit OHS management systems.

This course meets the requirements of the Quality Society of Australia (QSA) for occupational health & safety auditor certification.

Course Outline

Days 1 & 2 comprise interactive presentations that focus on the 'tools and techniques' for effective auditing. Topics include:

  • Effective OHS mangement - the critical ingredients.
  • The role of auditing in improving OHS performance.
  • Different audit tools/structures - AS4801, SafetyMAP, ISRS.
  • Selecting the appropriate audit tool for you.
  • Planning the audit.
  • Conducting the audit.
  • Auditing skills - interviewing techniques, communication processes, document verification.
  • Writing and presenting the Audit Report.

Days 3 & 4, participants work in syndicates and conduct their own audit of our virtual company - reviewing documentation, interviewing management & staff to assess the level of awareness and implementation. Audit reports are presented and reviewed on Day 5.

At the completion of the training, you will be able to:
